iPhone 6 and 6 plus: Apple goes thinner, bigger and faster

Apple has announced two new, larger iPhones as it aims to meet consumer demand for larger “phablet” smartphones.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone Plus have bigger screens, fingerprint sensors and mobile wallet services for allowing smartphones to be used like contactless debit and credit cards.

The new devices are the largest iPhones with new “Retina HD” screens covered in ion-strengthen – no mention of Sapphire crystal as rumoured before the launch.

The iPhone 6 has a 4.7in screen – compared with the current 4in screen of the iPhone 5S – while the iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5in screen.

The phones are also thinner – 6.9mm for the iPhone 6 and 7.1mm for the iPhone 6 Plus – with all-metal backs and glass that curves around the edges of the phone, marking the biggest design changes since the introduction of the iPhone 4 in 2010, reminiscent of the original iPhone, which was introduced in 2007.

The power buttons have moved from the top of the smartphone to the side, similar to most Android and Windows Phone smartphones with larger screens, making it easier to turn on and off with one hand.

Phablets and big-screened phones

Apple hopes the new iPhones will allow it to continue dominating the smartphone market, which has recently seen a trend for larger smartphones with screen sizes in excess of 5in becoming standard from manufacturers including Samsung, Sony, Microsoft and HTC.

The iPhone 6 Plus is aimed at the phablet category – a halfway house between a smartphone and a tablet – made popular by Samsung’s Galaxy Note series of smartphones.

It allows users to run software in a landscape orientation, similar to Apple’s iPad tablet computers, for greater productivity, while a double tap on the home button moves apps and content to the lower half of the screen for easy one-handed use.

Boosted battery

Both iPhones will be powered a new A8 processor that is 25% faster than the previous iPhone and 50% more power efficient for increased battery life.

Apple expects the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to outlast the iPhone 5S by at least an hour while browsing on Wi-Fi for example. Both new iPhones will also be able to make calls over Wi-Fi, if used on EE’s mobile phone network in the UK.

Apple has also improved the camera, fitting the new iPhones with an eight-megapixel camera using focusing technology often found in dSLR cameras, for fast and accurate photos. The iPhone 6 Plus also has optical stabilisation for removing camera shake, especially in low light situations.

The new camera can also shoot video at 240 frames per second to create super slow motion videos, double the rate of the current iPhone 5S.

Both the iPhones will be available in three colours gold, silver and space grey, with three storage variants – 16, 64 and 128GB – starting at $199 and $299 respectively on two-year mobile phone contracts in the US.

Pre-orders will be available online on 12 September to ship on the 19 September.

This case is about a 23-year-old National Diploma, ND, student of Mass Communication Department, Ibarapa Polytechnic, who narrated her story yesterday of how she was raped under a tree by one of the security men attached to Operation Burst set up by Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State to check criminality in the state.

According to the student, while she recounted the sad ordeal said;

“It happened on Friday, August 29, 2014. I was coming back to my room after seeing off a friend. He accused me of being a cultist for moving about around that time, but I denied it. He then ordered me to climb his motorcycle, but I pleaded with him that he should let me go.

“He removed a knife and said that he would stab me if I refused to obey him. So scared, I climbed the Okada and he took me to the Operation Burst office in Eruwa.

“When we got there, he forcefully led me to a dark area under a tree and ordered me to remove my dress to enable him see if I had tattoos on my body.

“I told him I did not have tattoos and that he should let me go. He then removed the knife again and said that he would slaughter me like a ram if I failed to ‘cooperate’ and that I would be buried like many other girls who had failed to cooperate in the past, and nobody would trace my death to him.

“Sensing danger, I removed my clothes. He ordered me to lie down under the tree and had sex with me several times while I was crying.

“He raped me till 3.30 am and I complained of catching cold. He entered into the office and brought out a bottle of beer. He gave it to me to hold for him.

“Later he said he was going to bring a blanket for me to cover my body. I waited for about 30 minutes, but when he did not return, I dressed up and ran away.

The victim reported to the Police Station at Eruwa, and identified the rapist among other security operatives paraded before her.

The victim also visited the Eruwa General Hospital for test, and according to the victim;

“The doctor told me to lie down and use his phone torchlight to examine my private part and wrote a report that although there was no trace of semen, the private part had been tampered with.”

But much could not be ascertained as the doctor claimed he could not carry out test on the inner part of the vagina because the hospital did not have the facilities to carry out such test.

The victim’s lawyer said a soldier called him at 8.25 pm on Sunday informing him that the Army had commenced court martial trial on the indicted soldier, but that the student must appear to testify.

Jonathan under attack for visiting Chad with Sheriff

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday came under fire over the presence of a former Borno State Governor, Ali Modu-Sheriff, at a meeting he held with Chadian President Idris Deby in Ndjamena on Monday.

The President’s spokesman, Dr. Rueben Abati, had in a statement on Sunday said that Jonathan was travelling to Chad to discuss how to combat insurgency in Nigeria with Deby.

A picture on Abati’s twitter handle early on Tuesday   showed that Modu-Sheriff was present at the Ndjamena meeting.

Among those that berated the President were the opposition All Progressives Congress, lawyers and civil society groups.

Their anger was predicated on the fact that the former governor was recently accused by an Australian hostage negotiator, Steven Davis, of allegedly sponsoring Boko Haram.

Shortly after the allegation, there were calls by the All Progressives Congress and some civil society groups for the arrest and prosecution of Sheriff.

Last Thursday, the Department of State Security invited the former governor to defend the allegations.

But when the   picture of the Ndjamena meeting surfaced, the APC   slammed Jonathan for hobnobbing with the ex- governor.

The APC , in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed,   demanded an explanation from the Presidency.

It accused the President of exhibiting a shocking act of indiscretion by hobnobbing with Sheriff who is not known to have been investigated and cleared of the allegation against him.

The party wondered what message Jonathan   was sending to his compatriots and indeed the international community by taking Sheriff   to Chad for a meeting against terrorism.

The statement partly read, “This action by President Jonathan confirms what the APC has always believed: That he either knows more than he is willing to admit on the issue of those who are behind the Boko Haram insurgency or he is willing to sacrifice the battle against terrorism on the altar of political expediency.

“Either way, this action by the President is the height of indiscretion at best, or a palpable exhibition of callowness at worst.

“It also confirms our fears that Sheriff was planted as a mole in the APC by his friends in high places, who are jittery about the birth of the party and would do anything to destabilise it.”

The APC said the President could not pretend not to be aware of a report sent home by Nigeria’s Defence Adviser in Ndjamena in 2011, detailing the suspicious activities of   Sheriff   and asking the Federal Government to investigate him.

The party said if this was a joke, it is one   too far, especially at a time that Nigeria had been losing some of its territories   to Boko Haram.

The APC said it was apparent that Jonathan smuggled Sheriff into his entourage, as the official statement announcing the trip, never mentioned he would accompany the President .

Mohammed said nobody in Nigeria would have known of this unholy alliance carried too far if not that the picture of the President, his host and the former governor surfaced via Twitter.

It said the President should   explain what he knows about the allegations that Sheriff and a former Chief of Army Staff, Azubuike Ihejirika, were Boko Haram sponsors.

The APC wondered why the Jonathan administration had not handed both men to the International Criminal Court for investigation and possible prosecution.

Also, lawyers like Femi Falana, Fred Agbaje, Jiti Ogunye, Festus Keyamo and Monday Ubani said the presence of the former governor at the Ndjamena meeting was inexplicable.

A former Borno State Commissioner for Information , Mr. Inuwa Bwala, however, dismissed the allegations against Sheriff.

Bwala   described the APC statement as a celebrating of falsehood.

He told one of our correspondents in a telephone interview that the party had yet to get over Sheriff’s loss to the ruling PDP.

The former Commissioner said it was mischievous for the APC to claim that Sheriff was part of the President’s entourage when indeed he (Sheriff) was among several Nigerians who received the President at the airport in Chad.

Bawala said, “The APC is celebrating falsehood. This is the height of their desperation and mischief all targeted at diverting public attention from the truth.

“Answers to the Boko Haram puzzle are within the ranks of the APC and very soon Nigerians will know them because their activities will soon be exposed.

“Senator Sheriff is a Nigerian who is doing business in Chad – he is prospecting for oil.

“Long before the President’s visit, he had been doing business there. As a loyal party member, there is nothing wrong if he joins people to receive the President in a country he is doing business in.”

But lawyers like Femi Falana, Fred Agbaje, Jiti Ogunye, Festus Keyamo and Monday Ubani said the presence of the former governor at   the Ndjamena meeting was inexplicable.

Falana, a human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria   told one of our correspondents that the inclusion of Sheriff on the President’s entourage was the height of insensitivity.

The SAN had earlier appealed to the International Criminal Court to investigate and possibly prosecute anyone indicted by Davies.

He said, “By this act, President Jonathan has demonstrated once again that he doesn’t give a damn about public opinion.”

Agbaje said, “There is so much dishonesty in governance. It means the government doesn’t appreciate the severity or gravity of what Boko Haram has done to innocent Nigerians.

“That action has also confirmed the President’s earlier position three years ago that the Boko Haram has infiltrated the government . He actually knows them and he is just covering them up because of 2015.”

Ogunye described the action of the President as disheartening and an indication of petty politicking.

He said, “It is disheartening and inexplicable that it is that same person that Mr. President will include in a delegation to go to Chad.

“We have said that in dealing with this menace, statesmanship should override political consideration and petty politicking.

“The state appears to be sleep walking; and you know when you are sleep-walking, you don’t take rational and reasonable decision.

“Statecraft and statesmanship are taking flight and petty politicking is taking over.”

Keyamo said,   “It also shows a lack of moral power to fight the Boko Haram scourge. It shows lack of moral and legal power to confront the sponsors of Boko Haram. The President by this action is telling all of us that there is more to it that meets the eye; that is what they are telling us.”

Also,   Ubani   said it was improper for Jonathan to have travelled with Sheriff .

Pointing that the former governor remains a suspect based on the allegation made against him, he added that it “was not proper for the president to have taken him along especially when the issue of the security of the nation is being discussed.

But the Nigerian Bar Association disagreed with Falana, Agbaje Keyamo, Ubani and Ogunye.

Its   President, Mr. Augustine Alegeh (SAN), said that Nigerians should respect the judgment of the President   in including Sherriff in the entourage.

Alegeh added that Jonathan must have acted on the basis of information that was exclusive to him.

He said, “The President is the Chief Security Officer of the country , consequently he may have a lot of information at his disposal which you and I do not have.

“For him to have taken such a decision, he must have done that based on the information at his disposal which we do not have. And we must learn to respect our President and trust his judgment on matters of this nature.”

The groups that also commented on the development were the Afenifere and the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders.

Its Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, said the President   needed to explain to Nigerians what role Sheriff was playing in his government’s fight against terrorism.

Odumakin said, “We don’t know in which capacity he (President Jonathan) took Sheriff along in the trip. But it was stated that the essence of the meeting was to discuss terrorism and maybe Sherrif is a consultant since he has been severally alleged to know a few things about the operations of the Islamic sect.

“The Presidency will have to let us know in which capacity he (Sheriff) was made part of the entourage – whether he has information that could be helpful in terms of sacking the crisis. So we need to know the details.

“I don’t want to accept that he was just taken in just to take a seat with the President on the presidential jet to Chad. So we need to no more details.”

CACOL said it was not surprised that Sheriff was in Chad because “the   Presidency had admitted long ago that Boko Haram had infiltrated it.”

“It means that the Federal Government doesn’t want the issue of Boko Haram solved just like   Davies said. The president should have insisted that before he could associate with such a person, he would ensure that he goes through some kind of investigations. But this is a shameless government that has lost the battle,” its Executive Chairman, Debo Adeniran said.

JAMB commences sales of UTME forms Thursday

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, said it would commence sales of 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination application forms from September 15, 2014 to January 15, 2015.
The board stated that following its resolution to implement full-blown ​Computer-Based Test in the 2015 UTME, a ​number of reforms aimed at repositioning the examination sector had been put in place to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
A statement by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, on Tuesday in Abuja, explained that the board had fine-tuned arrangements with CBT centres to register prospective UTME candidates.
This, it noted, became necessary to make the registration exercise error ​and ​stress-free for candidates.
The board said that it had discovered that most of the cases of impersonation and other malpractice were initiated from the registration process by cyber-cafes, hence the need to regulate the registration process to ensure the system is malpractice-free.
It said, “By this arrangement, candidates are to obtain their application document from the designated banks and proceed to any of our CBT centres and register for the examination at a regulated fee.
“There are about 300 centres all over the country and the centre members of staff have been trained for this purpose.”

No Marriage is Perfect but I have No Regrets – Adaeze Yobo

Adaeze Yobo, the pretty wife of the former super eagle’s captain Joseph Yobo in a recent interview revealed how she met her husband and what led to their marriage;

Adaeze speaking of how she met her  international football player husband Yobo, said;

I met him in Nigeria through a friend at an event. From there, we became close friends. I became pregnant and we got married im­mediately. Everything happened in a very short time. A lot of people thought it wasn’t going to work but at that moment, I knew I felt something I had never felt with anyone in my life and I said to myself, why not take that chance? I’m quite prayerful , so I knew there’s no way I could err, though I never planned getting married so early. I had so many dreams of what I wanted in life. Mar­riage was the last thing on my mind. It hap­pened so fast and I thought I should give it a shot.

The ex beauty queen talked about her fears, why she thought the relationship might not work out;

When we first met, I didn’t know who he is really. He didn’t know that I was the most beautiful girl in Nigeria. When I knew he was a footballer, I said to myself this relation­ship might not work or lead us anywhere, because of the lifestyle of some footballers who have so many girlfriends.

She however stated that, there’s no such thing as a perfect marriage;

Not at all. No marriage can ever be perfect. Even my relationship with my mum can never be perfect. Finally!!! Pastor Chris Breaks Silence on Divorce

After much silence about his alleged divorce from wife, pastor Chris speaks up about it for the very first time and here is what he had to say;

Pastor Chris has described as ‘crazy’ allegations levelled against him, he made this known while speaking on Sunday evening during the monthly global communion service of the church;

“I heard that some media houses– especially in Nigeria, are writing some things against me. All sorts of frivolous charges, that’s crazy.

“You have to understand something about a man of God. A man of God is not just someone who worships God or preaches God. A man of God is handpicked by God, set on course by God. If you study the scriptures, you will not find one man of God go against God, sinning against God.

“The only thing you might find will be a man of God, maybe in two different kinds of ways. Moses, for example, when he struck the rock twice, he was provoked by the anger of the people. It was not because he wanted to do something against the Lord. No man of God does something against the Lord.

“Are you hearing me? A man of God is set on a course; there is a type of life that he is given. Then you have a young man, a young prophet; he wasn’t named; he was deceived by another man of God and so he went in a direction that God said ‘don’t go’.

“That is the only kind of thing you find about a man of God when he misses the message of God or he acts beyond what God said. But a man of God settles himself in the fight against the world… like those writing those stupid things about me, that I did this and I did that.

“You don’t know who a man of God is. I don’t go in that direction. I wasn’t accused of the things you said, nor did I commit those stupid things that you said and I don’t need to go into that level in such discussions”.

He recalled that Jesus passed through similar travails and eventually overcame.

He said that although so many people were making mockery of him, he would remain steadfast and not lose focus

“Jesus Christ was accused by many– a lot of frivolous charges. There will always be those who would like for it to be true. But you know, in spite of the accusations against Jesus, It didn’t change who he was. It didn’t change him.

“There are preachers and there are men of God. I am not a preacher; I am a man of God and I go in the way I’m asked to go. It may cause some troubles with individuals but that’s not because I have done something wrong and when it comes to Reverend Anita, what I will say to you is ‘pray for her’.

“Don’t act like those people. If you are married to a man of God, it doesn’t make you automatically mature. You can make mistakes; you can do something that is wrong. But some people expect the wife of a minister to definitely be at the level of that minister and so they may be looked upon and the expectation may be like that, but it’s a positional thing.

“If a man of God is married, it doesn’t automatically mean that the wife of a man of God is therefore a woman of God. That’s not the way it is in the Bible. That’s why you don’t really find the wives of men of God mentioned in the Bible. How many of them? Who was Peter’s wife, did you ever know her name? You never find that out. Who was John’s wife? Did you ever read the name? What about all the other Apostles? How many of their names are written in the Bible? You never find their names”

At this point, one of the female pastors sought to know why the names of wives of the men of God were not found in the Bible.

Oyakhilome’s response was that she should ask God whenever she finds him.

‘“Why? You ask God when you find him. Ask God when you find him”, he exclaimed.

“So, they are little things; don’t try to make something big out of them. So when journeying, doing the things that God called us to do, Christians should not have a divorce; it shouldn’t be, but you see, that doesn’t mean a Christian may not take the step.

“They may do it but they have to make things right and we shouldn’t take one another to court. But when it happens, not that we don’t just want to go, it means someone is taking us there.

“That’s a problem, but be wise and stay focused in the word of God and don’t let those who want to feast on things like this, including Christians…

“There are Christians who like things like this; they want to make something big out of this: ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, we said it’. You said what? Judge nothing before the time. Be wise. Glory to God.

“So we are not working in sin and living in sin and hoping that we can mix sin and righteousness together. We are the manifestation of his righteousness. We walk in that light only, and that’s the way it’s gonna be”.

Hmm! So not all pastors’ wives are women of God?

Obasanjo’s soldier son shot by Boko Haram

A son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo was on Monday shot   during a battle between the militant Islamic sect, Boko Haram and troops near Michika in Adamawa State.

It was gathered that Lt.-Col Adeboye Obasanjo led a platoon of the army that took on the insurgents at Baza near Michika.

A highly reliable security source said that Adeboye was injured in the leg by the insurgents during the encounter. He is an army engineer at the 3rd Division in Jos, Plateau State.

The source said that the former President’s son was being treated at a military facility which identity was not revealed for security reasons.

“He was shot by Boko Haram in the battle to reclaim Michika from the insurgents. But there is no cause for alarm as he is responding to treatment,” he added.

A top military source confirmed the shooting of Adeboye.

A family friend of Obasanjo, Mallam Mohammed Kebbi, told BBC Hausa Service that “Col. Adeboye, son of Obasanjo, was shot by the insurgents in Bazza on their (platoon) way to Michika.”

Adeboye married Daisy Nyada in February 2008 at the Hilltop mansion residence of his father in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

During the Nigerian Civil War, Adeboye’s father commanded the Army’s 3 Marine Commando Division that took Owerri, effectively bringing an end to the civil war.

Meanwhile, soldiers launched an offensive on Sunday night against Boko Haram insurgents in their bid to recapture Michika in Adamawa State.

Security sources told our correspondents that the battle, which continued on Monday forced more residents of the town to flee to Yola.

The insurgents, who overran Michika and Uba on Sunday, had on Saturday taken over Gulak,   Bama and Gwoza in Borno State.

It was learnt that more troops and tanks were deployed from the military formation in Yola to complement the effort of those engaged in the battle to recapture Michika.

One of the sources said that another set of troops deployed from military formations within Adamawa State and other parts of the North-East, successfully took over Gulak from the insurgents.

Investigations revealed that     Mararaba and Uba   were also recaptured.

The source said that some soldiers from Borno State were involved in the battle for the liberation of Uba, a border town between Adamawa and Borno states.

He said that the insurgents fled Uba because the soldiers attacked from the Adamawa and Borno sides of the border community.

The source added that fighter jets and helicopters featured prominently in the encounters between the military and the insurgents.

The Fighter jets, according to him, bombed the hideouts of the insurgents while foot soldiers attacked their locations near the Michika LGA secretariat.

He said that the troops from Borno and Adamawa states blocked many of the routes used by the insurgents to enter into Cameroon.

The source   added, “I can confirm to you that troops are taking on the insurgents. They have not yet retaken Michika, but a serious operation is going on there.

“They have taken Uba and Gulak. Soldiers from Borno and Adamawa states were involved in the operation in Uba. You know that it is a border community between the two states.

“As we are talking now, the soldiers are taking on the insurgents in Mararaba which is between Michika and Mubi. The   soldiers have also blocked most of their routes to Cameroon while the Air Force is carrying out aerial bombardment.”

The PUNCH learnt that the rush by residents   to leave the affected communities resulted in a sharp increase in transport fares.

For instance, those   fleeing Mubi to Yola paid as much as N3, 500 for a journey of N1000.

Investigations also   revealed that   ground operation for the liberation of Bama had not been launched even though the Air Force had continued aerial attacks on the area.

The Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, could not be reached for comment on the   confrontation between the troops and the insurgents in Adamawa State as the calls to his mobile telephone line did not connect.

Boko Haram’s caliphate, a declaration of war –NLC

Meanwhile, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Abdulwahed Omar, has said that the recent declaration of an Islamic Caliphate by   Boko Haram   must not be allowed.

Omar said in an electronic mail on Monday that the increasing spate of attacks by the insurgents   amounted to an unacceptable declaration of a republic within a republic.

He warned that ceding any part of the country to the insurgents was inimical to the well-being of the nation and the growth of democratic governance.

He said that the NLC was concerned about the speed with which the insurgents had been taking over communities in the country in spite of the heavy security presence in the areas.

Omar said, “The   NLC is worried about the recent incursion into some towns and villages, especially in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states   by   Boko Haram.

“These violent attacks and reported seizures and declaration of an Islamic republic remain unacceptable and must never be allowed, as a republic cannot exist within a republic.

“While we appreciate the commitment of Nigeria’s security agencies, particularly the Armed Forces, to the battle against insurgency in Nigeria, we strongly warn that the consequence of allowing any part of the country to be forcefully seized by any group will be overwhelmingly harmful to our collective unity and socio-economic advancement, just as it would also endanger the growth of democracy.

“We are worried at the speed with which the insurgents are taking over communities even in areas reported to have heavy security presence.”

See Real Reason Why Pastor Chris and Anita Oyakhilome May Soon Split

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the President of Believers’ Love World Inc. aka Christ Embassy, may soon split with his wife Anita Oyakhilome but new report says its not because of adultery as previously reported;

Pastor Anita according to Thisday, is divorcing her husband on grounds of behaviours that suggest that she cannot ‘reasonably be expected’ to live with him.

According to a copy of the court papers for the divorce process filed at the Principal Registry of the Family Division (PRFD) of the High Court of Justice,  Pastor Anita applied for “divorce on the ground that the marriage has broken down irretrievably.” says Thisday

In her statement of case in support of petition at PRFD with number FD14001650, Pastor Anita however, had this to say;

“The wife submits that her marriage to the husband has irretrievably broken down and there is no hope of reconciliation. The wife will submit that it is the husband’s unreasonable behaviours which have led to this.

“The husband and the wife are both Pastors. The husband undertakes his work, in the main, in South Africa and Nigeria. The wife lives in the United Kingdom. The wife will say that they have lived separately for 16 years and over this time have drifted apart. The wife has come to realise that the husband will only visit the UK for annual church programmes that he holds rather than to be with this wife. The wife feels that he has been unavailable as a father to their children during their developing years.

“The wife feels that their marriage suffered under the pressure of their work. They would rarely spend time together due to the husband unavailability. Special occasions such as Christmas, Birthdays and family occasions and anniversaries past them by and their rarely spent any time together as a family as the husband was more devoted to his work than he was to them.

“The wife feels that she has been used to portray and enhance the husband’s image as a family man when the reality is that there is no existing relationship between them. She feels that she has been present for official functions simply for his convenience. On occasions she has been copied into his travel itinerary which has been given to him by his staff on a need to know basis.

“The wife has tried to discuss her concerns with the husband. He claims that she is carnal and he is insensitive to her feelings and her needs.

“As a result of the husband’s attitude to their marriage, the wife will say that he is virtually not recognised as a married man in the ministry. His teachings and beliefs on marriage is that the husband is a master and a controller and the wife will say that his concept of biblical; submission is so extreme that it is impossible for her to meet his expectations. She feels humiliated by the way he treats her in the presence of his close female staff members and she feels that she has been taken for granted which has become unbearably stressful for her.

“The wife will say that the relationship with the husband is non-existent to the point that his itinerary which was announced publicly at the beginning of the year had no provision for time with his family. His staff members who travel with him organise both his personal and professional life without any input from her. The wife will say that she is treated with disregard almost like akin to an intruder.

“The wife feels that she has been mentally, physically and emotionally deprived of the experience of a marital relationship. She feels that the husband has persistently judged her and his communication with her has been unduly harsh. The wife knows that he was hard to please and has been extremely critical.

“The wife reserves the right to expand on all of these particulars if the divorce petition is defended,” the statement read in part.
