Nigeria needs war general to survive –Tinubu
National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said yesterday that if Nigeria must survive the challenges facing her, General Muhammadu Buhari must be voted as the next president.
Speaking at the campaign rally of the party in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Tinubu made it clear that Nigeria was facing serious problems that required the experience of a war general.
He said: “When America was in a serious challenge, the people turned to their ex-war general, General Isaac Hoewer. When Great Britain was facing serious challenge, the people brought in their war general, Winston Churchill; when France was in a serious challenge, the people sought for a war general, Charles De Gaulle and he saved the nation.
“Nigeria is facing serious challenge now and needs a war general for it to survive the challenge and Buhari is the general.”
He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had been ruling the country since 1999 and after 16 years the party could not boast of having done anything successfully for the nation.
The former governor asked the people who thronged the place whether they were satisfied about the state of electricity in the country and the people said no.
He also asked them if they were pleased with the state of security, education employment and roads, among others and the people said no; he then urged them to vote APC en masse in the coming elections, saying only Buhari could save the nation from collapse
